Julie's Bday Celebrations

Well, I'm still running about a month behind on posting pictures. At least I'm consistent, right? I really need to get a handle on this...

We celebrated my 33rd bday at the beginning of June - it's my Jesus year!!

We had 3 great celebrations, one with my parents, one with just the 3 of us, and one with Adam's parents. I like to celebrate birthday months. :) Of course, there are more pictures of Rebekah than me, but I'm totally ok with that. (really)

At my parents house, we swam in the pool, ate cake, and opened presents. Pretty standard really. (Had some fun play time too, see album below.)

On my actual birthday, we went to the kid's day at the DMA. Adam took off work so we could go as a family! Then we drove up north to In-N-Out burger for dinner! It was the perfect day.

The theme at the DMA was "Road Trip: USA." I love this family photo!

Then standard celebration with Adam's family - presents and play time!

I feel so blessed to have this little girl to celebrate my birthdays with!! She is such a joy and really makes me look forward to my 33rd year!

Here are all the photos from the bday fun:

Lubbock Trip to Meet Cooper

Rebekah and I took at trip to Lubbock in May meet the new nephew Cooper. He was almost a month old by the time we were able to make it! It was so much fun to hold a little bitty baby again! :) He's the best little kid just cries when he wants so food and sleeps and looks around.

It was really fun to see Rebekah and Landon play together. Well, not really together, but with the same toys. :)

There was dancing...

And snacking...

And riding in the car together

(she looks so big!!)

Playing at the Science Museum

And eating Chick-fil-a Chicken!

(Rebekah's first Chick-fil-a experience was also with Aunt Angie and cousin Landon)

There are more pictures of the fun - especially the fun toys at the Science Museum. Check them out here:

9 Month Update (almost a month late)

With Rebekah's 10 month birthday looming in the next week, I am finally getting to post her 9 month update. We finally conquered some of the IT issues we were having in the house, so I'm able to get the photos and video up a bit easier.

At her 9 month checkup, Rebekah was 16 lb (9%) and 28.25 in (78%) and her head is 16.5 in (5%) She's just an itty bitty thing. She still has no teeth, but is a good eater!!...What's up doc?

Rebekah is totally on the move. She figured out how to hold onto things and move around. She seems to be getting taller everyday.

Trying to figure out the cabinet door...it took her about another month (but that's for the 10 month update!)

We had a fun night out at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton parish celebration. My parents were supposed to join us, but they were in Lubbock helping out with the new nephew! The Kallaugher's had a good time with us instead!

My favorite thing is her silly giggles! We have so much fun laughing and playing (click to see video)

We had a bit of sadness this month as we said goodbye to our friends, the Corbins, who moved from Dallas. Rebekah will miss her friend Benji and Adam and I will miss Matt & Meili! Here's an album with some of our fun times with them the last week before they left.

Of course, the bee photos are updated with the latest shots.

Here's the album with several more 9 month photos and video:
2011.05.23 - Rebekah Month 9

I still have pictures from our Lubbock trip and from my birthday, and will have Father's Day shots after this weekend! Hopefully I can get all this up before her 10 month birthday on the 23rd!

Our 1st Mother's Day with Rebekah

Well, Mother's Day has been over a month ago, and I have so many photos to catch you up on! This was, of course, our first mother's day with Rebekah and we had such a great time!

We spent the Sunday before Mother's Day with Adam's mom. We ate at their house then went to ride the carousel at Grapevine Mills Mall. Rebekah loved it!!

Then on Mother's Day, Adam made me a wonderful breakfast (with Rebekah's help, of course)!!

We went to Mass

Then spent the day with my family!

I absolutely love being Rebekah's mom! This was the most wonderful celebration I could have imagined for the gift she has given me by being able to be a mom. I look forward to so many more Mother's Days!!

You can see all our Mother's Day pictures in the album here:

8 Month Update

YAY 8 Months!

I think this is a record - posting the monthly update merely one day after her actual monthly birthday! Rebekah hit the 8 month mark yesterday, and it sure has been a fun month!

This little girl has scoped out every inch of our house. You turn your head and she's into something else. Her reach is getting higher and higher each day, which continually poses new challenges for us. I'm amazed by her curiosity.

Rebekah moved up to the next room at daycare at the beginning of April. The typical move up age is 8 months, but she was crawling around so much in the baby room, which is not made for crawlers at all! I was miserable watching her be miserable as she had to hang out in swings and exersaucers for much of the day (they have a video monitor I can see online). I asked if she could move up early and was so grateful the day care could make it work. She spent a whopping 2 days there, and has been out for almost 2 weeks now with my weird work schedule and her off and on illnesses. She goes back on Tuesday, and I think she's ready to play with her friends again! :)

She has a giggle that is just contagious.

If you get her belly just the right way, she will squeal and scream and laugh. Just this week we started a new game where I hide around the corner and she comes to find me....she just can't stop giggling when she finds me!

And I love watching her and her daddy play and laugh in the evenings after dinner - it's my favorite time of day.

We also decided to join the Dallas Arboretum this year! We can take up to 6 people with us, so let me know if you want to go sometime! We went on the last day of the annual Dallas Blooms festival with Adam's parents (aka Grammy and Grampy). We couldn't find any tulips (the hallmark image of the Dallas Blooms pictures), but we we able to get some good family photos.

You can see all the pictures from our picnic at the Arboretum here.

Well, here are the rest of the 8 month pictures - there are definitely some fun and some crazy ones in there:

And of course, the Rebekah and the Bee photos have been updated as well.

I hope everyone had a Happy Easter today! We sure had a great Easter weekend. Pictures of that will be coming soon as well, but I have an essay to write and some work hours to make up (from taking care of the sick little girl), so it may be a bit before I get around to them. Until then, I hope you enjoyed the latest little update!

March Trip to Lubbock

Rebekah is 8 months old today! Of course, I'm not quite ready to post those pictures....I'm a few events behind, so I'm going to catch up on those first. Hopefully the 8 month update will be up in the next couple of days.

This post is all about our trip to Lubbock to visit my sister and her family. We missed our nephew's 1st birthday party, so I really wanted to make a trip before their family of 3 became a family of 4 (which is any day now!). It was the first time Rebekah and I flew by ourselves, we went on Wednesday and Adam joined us on Friday for the weekend.

We had a great time! Landon was so sweet with Rebekah. He gave her toys and hugs and hats and loved playing with her. I can't wait to see how he is as a big brother! We went on walks, played in the backyard, had an Easter photo shoot, and ate Rosa's and Sheridan's (2 things I have to do when I go to Lubbock). My sister and I even took advantage of the boys being there on Saturday and we went to get our nails done and have lunch without the kids!

We had a wonderful time, and took tons of pictures! Here are the best pictures and videos (click the image to see):

7 Month Update

Well, Rebekah hit 6 months, then crawled her way right into 7 months old.

From 2011.03 - Rebekah Month 7

She is definitely our little explorer! She started off slowly - crawl around a bit, sit up, look around, giggle, then crawl some more. But each day brought more adventure and more speed.

We had some firsts this month...

Our 1st high chair (iphone picture with bad lighting)

Our 1st straw cup (we tried sippy cups, but she seems to like the straw much better!)

And our 1st trip in the shopping cart without the car seat

This little girl is just unbelievable amounts of fun. She brings joy to our life everyday. My favorite part of the day is after dinner when we are all at home and playing on the floor. She is just such a happy little girl and loves playing with her mama and daddy!

We did take a few bee pictures, so they are updated in this album. She wasn't cooperating very well, but we were able to snap a few.
Rebekah and the Bee

And of course, we had some good times with our families as well. All of her 7 month pictures can be seen here:
2011.03 - Rebekah Month 7

We started off the next month with a trip to visit Rebekah's Aunt Angie, Uncle Scott, and cousin Landon. Lots of great pictures from that trip are up next!
