<br />
<br />
<br />
I went back and looked at some very basic journal notes I was trying to keep of these kids. Around this time, Jacob started waving "bye bye" and "hi" and telling us "all done" with sign language. He also understands words like milk, water, Rebekah, eat, more, all done, hi, and bye.<br />

I always try to make the actual birthday a special day, and her day was no exception. She loves loves loves art class at the <a href="http://www.dma.org/" target="_blank">Dallas Museum of Art</a>. We go once a month and each month is a different theme. This month the art class happened to be on her birthday - what a treat! Adam took the day off and joined us.<br />

<br />
<br />
We also love to go to <a href="http://www.klydewarrenpark.org/" target="_blank">Klyde Warren Park</a> after art class, eat at the food trucks, and play outside for a bit. Our favorite food truck stop is <a href="http://thebutchersson.com/" target="_blank">The Butcher's Son</a>, because a little slider sandwich is the perfect size for her! She loves the Dead Elvis: peanut butter, nutella, and bacon!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
The dinner request was pizza, and her own pizza kit from Papa Murphy's was a big hit!<br />

How you doin? Me? I'm good. I just realized I haven't posted since Jacob's 11 month post. And before that this blog had become quite Jacob-heavy! I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to structure this blog going forward, now that we are out of the monthly posts of the first year! For now, I need to go back and do some catching up. Sometimes I wonder why I even keep up with this. But...I'm a picture taker. I love taking picture. I'm not good at writing in baby books, but I'm good at capturing the things we do by taking photos. Which means I get a little overwhelmed sometimes at the number of photos I have to go through. But, I keep up with this blog to keep me on track with documenting my kids' lives.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3ao7TPTC9u4/U3WXKbNc33I/AAAAAAAAR-o/SsVVl9Ke3PY/s1600/DSC_0236.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"> <img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3ao7TPTC9u4/U3WXKbNc33I/AAAAAAAAR-o/SsVVl9Ke3PY/s1600/DSC_0236.JPG" height="213" width="320" /></a><br />
<br />
Anywho, Adam and I spend a lot of time planning and preparing for our kids' bday parties. We love it. We kinda go all out. And Rebekah's 3rd Birthday Art Party was no exception. We transformed the living room into an art studio.<br />

<br />
Oh, the end of summer. During Jacob's 10th month, we celebrated big sister's 3rd birthday (more on that later), he started saying yay! and clapping and generally interacting more with the world around him, and he started doing big boy things like using his own snack cup!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-w__gX4FR86E/UoruplJwMHI/AAAAAAAAQoY/PNyIV6ElUlI/s1600/IMG_4618.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-w__gX4FR86E/UoruplJwMHI/AAAAAAAAQoY/PNyIV6ElUlI/s320/IMG_4618.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/julie.billmeier/20130920JacobMonth10?authkey=Gv1sRgCPPrm9bqlp-pTQ#5947829017285045026" target="_blank"><img height="225" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-c6H0bzYzlpE/Uoru-nAJKyI/AAAAAAAAQpE/HxJkf6-GZgo/s400/IMG_4631.jpg" width="400" /></a>
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-XyMBsPaAvJ8/Uoruf3oUUfI/AAAAAAAAQnc/WaRc32VC44s/s1600/IMG_4519.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-XyMBsPaAvJ8/Uoruf3oUUfI/AAAAAAAAQnc/WaRc32VC44s/s320/IMG_4519.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Jacob also has a couple of besties that he enjoys spending time with. :)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-L7oMhwbtIvo/UorvBN3Z9RI/AAAAAAAAQpc/KZgZ9NASXQA/s1600/IMG_4645.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-L7oMhwbtIvo/UorvBN3Z9RI/AAAAAAAAQpc/KZgZ9NASXQA/s320/IMG_4645.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CvtPaY2t6do/UorukaIiyyI/AAAAAAAAQn4/K7qKpEm-Hnk/s1600/IMG_4570.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CvtPaY2t6do/UorukaIiyyI/AAAAAAAAQn4/K7qKpEm-Hnk/s320/IMG_4570.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
And, of course, we can't forget about being indoctrinated into the Aggie spirit!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-L41kRB2YwVA/UorvADwoWaI/AAAAAAAAQpY/3LYjkY7U-0o/s1600/IMG_4643.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-L41kRB2YwVA/UorvADwoWaI/AAAAAAAAQpY/3LYjkY7U-0o/s320/IMG_4643.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I know he looks so cute in all these pics, but really, my view of him is usually this:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YCEha4kq5Es/UortoBh6mrI/AAAAAAAAQmo/F8fM8SS8qtY/s1600/IMG_4493.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YCEha4kq5Es/UortoBh6mrI/AAAAAAAAQmo/F8fM8SS8qtY/s320/IMG_4493.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
especially when I'm trying to cook dinner or do anything productive in the house!<br />
<br />
<br />
There are a few more REALLY CUTE pictures in this album too, so be sure to check them out.<br />

I'm seriously going to catch up on blog posts this week...for both kids! (Did you know Rebekah turned 3? No, you didn't, because I didn't blog about it!)<br />
<br />
Ok, enough of my monthly "I'm so behind on blogging" rant.<br />
<br />
The month from 7/20 to 8/20 was filled with us wrapping up our summer fun.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>Rebekah had 2 weeks of gymnastics classes (2 days a week), and this was the first time Jacob had really been mobile while we were at gymnastics. He had fun watching her!</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-SBDRyq9SzMU/UmHqkAsOwKI/AAAAAAAAP9Y/8JLnQsPZ9sk/s1600/IMG_4129.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-SBDRyq9SzMU/UmHqkAsOwKI/AAAAAAAAP9Y/8JLnQsPZ9sk/s320/IMG_4129.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>We had some fun at the arboretum.</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1nzamE4gIhY/UmHqpgzhnQI/AAAAAAAAP-E/6I9d_miKvYc/s1600/IMG_4156.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-sOXxDsR7jJY/UmHqoP7kKCI/AAAAAAAAP98/PHEkUZJF3P8/s1600/IMG_4146.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i> We delivered some Meals on Wheels with <a href="http://www.weevolunteer.org/" target="_blank">Wee Volunteer</a></i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IX8GaU2f-Us/UmHqwqus3ZI/AAAAAAAAP_A/9P-K17zQqVE/s1600/IMG_4197.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IX8GaU2f-Us/UmHqwqus3ZI/AAAAAAAAP_A/9P-K17zQqVE/s320/IMG_4197.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>And we had our first trip to the beach!</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gwvjkEQbRr4/UmHq1vJK1LI/AAAAAAAAP_w/vBRytH5vUOk/s1600/IMG_4304.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gwvjkEQbRr4/UmHq1vJK1LI/AAAAAAAAP_w/vBRytH5vUOk/s320/IMG_4304.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qxe1uXOAfKQ/UmHq6q7SuGI/AAAAAAAAQAg/Ar2mCG6je_M/s1600/IMG_4407.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qxe1uXOAfKQ/UmHq6q7SuGI/AAAAAAAAQAg/Ar2mCG6je_M/s320/IMG_4407.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>And we had a major milestone this month - our first tooth!</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-yAvfxujmijc/UmHqxbcgENI/AAAAAAAAP_I/We6-ue33P0c/s1600/DSC_0038.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-yAvfxujmijc/UmHqxbcgENI/AAAAAAAAP_I/We6-ue33P0c/s400/DSC_0038.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
(I guess technically the tooth came in a week before he turned 8 months, but we weren't able to get a good picture of it for awhile. How cute is this face??)<br />
<br />
This kid is trying so hard to keep up with his big sister. He cries whenever people leave him in a room by himself, but he is starting to figure out how to follow us around the house. He will follow Rebekah anywhere!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

10 month update coming up soon, as well as Rebekah's 3 year photos!Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04058831705904563847noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-380734327182067241.post-81490362690721025452013-09-18T21:43:00.003-05:002013-09-18T21:44:07.860-05:00Jacob 8 Month Update<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Jacob hit 8 months on July 20. We are now 2 days away from him being 10 months, and I am just now doing his 8 month update (not to mention his 9 month update, or Rebekah's birthday updates). Does anyone even read these? Doesn't matter. :) This is my way of doing a baby book since I'm not very good at writing in those.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Since it has been awhile, it is of course hard for me to remember specifics. I just went back and looked at my little journal I try to keep of major milestones, and here is what I found:</span><br />
<br />
<div style="font-size: 11pt; margin: 0in 0in 0in 0.375in;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">7/9</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
</span><br />
<ul style="direction: ltr; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-left: .375in; margin-top: 0in; unicode-bidi: embed;" type="disc">
<li style="margin-bottom: 0; margin-top: 0; vertical-align: middle;"><span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 11pt;">Adam found Jacob standing in
the crib</span></span></li>
</ul>
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
</span><br />
<div style="font-size: 11pt; margin: 0in 0in 0in 0.375in;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> 7/12</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
</span><br />
<ul style="direction: ltr; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-left: .375in; margin-top: 0in; unicode-bidi: embed;" type="disc">
<li style="margin-bottom: 0; margin-top: 0; vertical-align: middle;"><span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 11pt;">Started cruising</span></span></li>
</ul>
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
</span><br />
<div style="font-size: 11pt; margin: 0in 0in 0in 0.375in;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> 7/13</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
</span><br />
<ul style="direction: ltr; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-left: .375in; margin-top: 0in; unicode-bidi: embed;" type="disc">
<li style="margin-bottom: 0; margin-top: 0; vertical-align: middle;"><span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 11pt;">1st tooth! Felt it but can't
see it yet...middle bottom his left</span></span></li>
</ul>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 11pt;">Those are some big milestones! And yet I feel like he has been cruising and standing forever. I guess it has only been a couple of months!</span></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 11pt;"></span></span><span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 11pt;">Overall, this month, I feel like he was finally able to begin experiencing some of the fun things that he has only seen from the <a href="http://www.becobabycarrier.com/" target="_blank">Beco</a>, the car seat, or the stroller...</span></span><br />

He started eating solid food, progressed from sitting if he was put down, to scooting, to <a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/35w6Yl218uxUMXTFnARu3dMTjNZETYmyPJy0liipFm0?feat=directlink" target="_blank"><i>rocking on all fours</i></a>, to <i>crawling</i>, to being able to <a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/M1-2ryTZiLwpcPe8CaNpftMTjNZETYmyPJy0liipFm0?feat=directlink" target="_blank"><i>push himself back up to sitting</i></a>, and even starting to pull himself up on things. I
have become painfully aware of how big he is when I hold him to my chest or in
my arms.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It just seems to have happened
so quickly!<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>He is suddenly not an infant
anymore, but a baby on his way to toddlerhood.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We had some firsts this month:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
1st solid food. (He really did not like food for the 1st couple of weeks. It was quite a struggle, but we eased into it!) </div>

<br />
1st time in the jogging stroller without the carseat.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
1st time to volunteer (at <a href="http://www.cpdtx.org/" target="_blank">Community Partners of Dallas</a> with the <a href="http://ndecpta.com/" target="_blank">NDECPTA</a>). <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
1st time in a highchair at the restaurant. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
1st time at the pool.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uU9-cpo95Ro/UfMZy6-wPgI/AAAAAAAAPuQ/3MxGYJs0BWw/s1600/IMG_3778.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uU9-cpo95Ro/UfMZy6-wPgI/AAAAAAAAPuQ/3MxGYJs0BWw/s320/IMG_3778.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
(Yes, he went to the pool in his pjs. He had just gotten up from a nap, and I just didn't see the point in putting on clothes then changing again into swimsuit! And, yes, those are Christmas pjs. That's what happens when all your pjs are hand-me-downs - you get Christmas in the summer!)<br />
<br />
And we had lots of fun times with sister!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-uiqCn9K3aaI/UfMifUgHF5I/AAAAAAAAPy4/QlAl8TxOubE/s1600/2013.06.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="250" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-uiqCn9K3aaI/UfMifUgHF5I/AAAAAAAAPy4/QlAl8TxOubE/s400/2013.06.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
But mainly, I'm amazed at how mobile he has become, almost overnight. And most other people are too. But when I go back and look at <a href="http://thebillmeierfam.blogspot.com/2011/04/7-month-update.html" target="_blank">his sister's 7 month update</a>, I'm reminded that we just have early movers in this house. Lucky me.<br />
<br />
This sweet boy is growing up before our eyes. Enjoy the album. There are a few additional videos to enjoy as well.<br />

Oh well, that's just life around here I guess.<br />
<br />
This little boy really started changing between 5 and 6 months. He began to be able to sit up without much support, and definitely improved his mobility by flip-flopping and rolling all over the floor. He started to be able to grab and play with toys and his paci. We made it to 6 months on only breastmilk - yay!! It was such a rough start for the first 10 (!) weeks, but we did it. And as much as we try, he still wants nothing to do with a bottle.<br />
<br />
We've had some fun times this month. Now that I am officially home with both kids full-time, we spend lots of time just hanging out with sister.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Iw8_HlloH5A/Ub-7hcAuBdI/AAAAAAAAPbc/jFXR0KwFvp8/s1600/DSC_0337.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Iw8_HlloH5A/Ub-7hcAuBdI/AAAAAAAAPbc/jFXR0KwFvp8/s320/DSC_0337.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Sometimes in the laundry basket.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8FKZf9UsqXU/Ub-6JrcKXKI/AAAAAAAAPYY/vp1_HyyinFY/s1600/DSC_0276.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8FKZf9UsqXU/Ub-6JrcKXKI/AAAAAAAAPYY/vp1_HyyinFY/s320/DSC_0276.JPG" width="213" /></a></div>
<i>(I went back and looked at <a href="http://thebillmeierfam.blogspot.com/2011/03/6-month-update.html" target="_blank">Rebekah's 6 month update</a> and I had a picture of her in the laundry basket too!)</i><br />
<br />
Sometimes we play with friends.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-okJEzAtuTio/Ub-6LAmY2qI/AAAAAAAAPYo/-2zYGgFHJgc/s1600/IMG_3431.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-okJEzAtuTio/Ub-6LAmY2qI/AAAAAAAAPYo/-2zYGgFHJgc/s320/IMG_3431.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
We had a wonderful Mother's Day.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-hL1fP-0aTsc/Ub-6TZArPqI/AAAAAAAAPZ4/24My0PwqFRE/s1600/DSC_0315.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-hL1fP-0aTsc/Ub-6TZArPqI/AAAAAAAAPZ4/24My0PwqFRE/s320/DSC_0315.JPG" width="213" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_H-VZTtAuGQ/Ub-7c1vkWAI/AAAAAAAAPag/Nor_VH5eQMg/s1600/IMG_3496.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_H-VZTtAuGQ/Ub-7c1vkWAI/AAAAAAAAPag/Nor_VH5eQMg/s320/IMG_3496.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
And we even had cupcakes to celebrate the half birthday (well, Adam, Rebekah, and I had cupcakes!).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-T2xYw5elpUA/Ub_A9GMGq4I/AAAAAAAAPc8/xn9Io0zuCN8/s1600/DSC_0053.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-T2xYw5elpUA/Ub_A9GMGq4I/AAAAAAAAPc8/xn9Io0zuCN8/s320/DSC_0053.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
One of my favorite shots from this month was from our monthly lunch visit with my Mammaw (the kids' Great-Mammaw)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3doqn9h6yRQ/Ub-7ihRG_JI/AAAAAAAAPbs/hdE6xsWh09I/s1600/IMG_3543.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3doqn9h6yRQ/Ub-7ihRG_JI/AAAAAAAAPbs/hdE6xsWh09I/s320/IMG_3543.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Here's the album.<br />
<table style="width: 194px;"><tbody>

<br />
<br />
And of course the <a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/julie.billmeier/JacobAndTheRaccoon?authuser=0&feat=directlink" target="_blank">Raccoon photos</a> have been updated as well!Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04058831705904563847noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-380734327182067241.post-11540422787509092512013-05-26T22:26:00.002-05:002013-05-26T22:26:30.917-05:00Jacob Month 5It has been well over a month since Jacob turned 5 months (4/20 to be exact). Things were super busy that day because we were trying to re-sod our entire backyard. Digging up all the old grass and laying down 5 pallets of new sod. But more on that project in another post coming soon....<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zsXPW9Bjsh4/UaJvCq6RAQI/AAAAAAAAPU4/NkSKiWiFQPE/s1600/DSC_0264.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zsXPW9Bjsh4/UaJvCq6RAQI/AAAAAAAAPU4/NkSKiWiFQPE/s320/DSC_0264.JPG" width="213" /></a></div>
<br />
I'll be honest, Jacob spends a lot of time doing things his sister wants to do...and just kind of tagging along. Like going to see <a href="http://pbskids.org/sid/" target="_blank">Sid the Science Kid</a> at the <a href="http://www.perotmuseum.org/" target="_blank">Perot Museum</a>, or watching her get her face painted at the <a href="http://www.dallasarboretum.org/" target="_blank">Arboretum</a>, or going to a <a href="http://laurieberkner.com/" target="_blank">Laurie Berkner Band</a> concert, or dyeing Easter eggs, or just hanging out in the backyard.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-n3xNLJMdZB4/UaLNI7WdtcI/AAAAAAAAPVg/kAe-mgaiS1c/s1600/2013.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="250" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-n3xNLJMdZB4/UaLNI7WdtcI/AAAAAAAAPVg/kAe-mgaiS1c/s400/2013.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
It's a good thing he is a pretty laid back kid, and easy to take along everywhere we go.<br />
<br />
He's really not on any kind of nap schedule, and sometimes that leads to him napping wherever he falls asleep.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jrexMZp-1ZM/UaJuvyechEI/AAAAAAAAPSI/nK-Y9CHXzFM/s1600/IMG_3271.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jrexMZp-1ZM/UaJuvyechEI/AAAAAAAAPSI/nK-Y9CHXzFM/s320/IMG_3271.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>

<br />
We did have a few big events this month:<br />
Easter...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rhCVRfOpI2w/UaJuois6_YI/AAAAAAAAPQ4/BEA1isryzaQ/s1600/DSC_0087.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rhCVRfOpI2w/UaJuois6_YI/AAAAAAAAPQ4/BEA1isryzaQ/s320/DSC_0087.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>

<br />
Some requisite bluebonnet photos by my wonderful friend and neighbor, <a href="http://www.artsymagnet.com/" target="_blank">Ashli</a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-gH85oZgeha0/UaJuzQ97laI/AAAAAAAAPSo/bsDgR2J6g2U/s1600/Bluebonnets+185.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-gH85oZgeha0/UaJuzQ97laI/AAAAAAAAPSo/bsDgR2J6g2U/s320/Bluebonnets+185.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>

<br />
And we had some big milestones:<br />
1st time to sit with us at the table in the highchair<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5_q_WBhbRzk/UaJul1DsoaI/AAAAAAAAPQY/jaM1GML4bDo/s1600/IMG_3217.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5_q_WBhbRzk/UaJul1DsoaI/AAAAAAAAPQY/jaM1GML4bDo/s320/IMG_3217.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
1st night in his own bed (a bittersweet experience for me this time around...)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And 1st baseball game (with <a href="http://www.milb.com/index.jsp?sid=t237" target="_blank">Juice the Moose</a>! - Rebekah wanted nothing to do with this guy)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Blankets and playmats have become basically obsolete as he just rolls anywhere he wants to go.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wQlcAoYLy1I/UaJu65x19lI/AAAAAAAAPTw/7S9Nyu0mcYU/s1600/IMG_3340.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wQlcAoYLy1I/UaJu65x19lI/AAAAAAAAPTw/7S9Nyu0mcYU/s320/IMG_3340.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
And bottles have disappeared as well. I spent 10 weeks working so hard to nurse this boy and wishing each day that he didn't have to take a bottle. And now, he just won't do it. It started right at the end of March when I was still working, and it just keeps getting worse. So, he also tried a straw cup for the first time this month. (That didn't work either...)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Jacob is really starting to play with toys more and more and loves his toes.<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">My sister gave me all these toys!</td></tr>

And he has a smile that just takes up his entire face!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I've been keeping a casual "journal" of funny things that happen in our day-to-day life. I also apparently wrote down a bunch of stuff right around the time she turned 2 1/2 because I knew I would forget what she was like at that exact moment in time. Apparently I also forgot I had done this until after I did my last post!<br />
<br />

Even as I read these I'm sad because so many things have changed in just a couple of short months! Hope you enjoyed the extra update!<br /><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;"> </span><br />

I just can't seem to make myself sit down and sort through pictures - we just take so many of them! A fellow mom said to me today, "I feel like with each new kid, someone just hits fast forward on my life." I'm finding this to be very true.<br />
<br />
So what happened between August and February? Well, other than <a href="http://thebillmeierfam.blogspot.com/2013/01/welcome-jacob.html" target="_blank">having a baby</a>, of course. I just quickly went through all the pictures and I can't believe how much different Rebekah looks. I did manage to do a blog post last Fall about our trip to the <a href="http://thebillmeierfam.blogspot.com/2012/10/arboretum-and-fair.html" target="_blank">Arboretum and the State Fair</a>. And we had a wonderful little <a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/julie.billmeier/201210FallPhotoShoot?authuser=0&authkey=Gv1sRgCPLIzpKJodySVA&feat=directlink" target="_blank">family photo shoot</a> thanks to <a href="http://www.stefanimarcus.com/" target="_blank">Stefani Marcus Photography</a> (that I actually won from the <a href="http://www.dfwclothdiapergroup.com/" target="_blank">DFW Cloth Diaper Group</a>!). And I guess I never did a blog about it, I uploaded a HUGE album of Christmas Season photos:<br />
<br />

<br />
So, the end of 2012 went by with a blur. We also had some fun with Grammy and Grampy's birthdays, as well as a Seibold family trip to the Plano Balloon Festival<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-h17RkSZPtx4/UZL69gVk67I/AAAAAAAAPDM/CwchtrXSh_w/s1600/20120922-DSC_0230.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-h17RkSZPtx4/UZL69gVk67I/AAAAAAAAPDM/CwchtrXSh_w/s320/20120922-DSC_0230.JPG" width="212" /></a></div>

<br />
Of course, there was Halloween<br />

We also took our first of many trips to Klyde Warren Park.<br />

So far, 2013 has included many many pajama pics<br />

<br />
Trips to the new <a href="http://www.perotmuseum.org/" target="_blank">Perot Museum</a> and other museums with our Kids Club membership<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
And a new gymnastics class (that Rebekah loves WAY more than ballet we tried last fall)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-R1IlsgsYf_w/UZL71k9HIJI/AAAAAAAAPKM/ON8D9ZzXCkA/s1600/IMG_2990.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-R1IlsgsYf_w/UZL71k9HIJI/AAAAAAAAPKM/ON8D9ZzXCkA/s320/IMG_2990.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I usually like to do a little something fun on the half birthdays, but Rebekah's half birthday is also her cousin Cadence's birthday. Since it fell on a Saturday this year, we were too busy having fun with our cousins to worry about half birthdays. Next year maybe we'll just have 2 cupcakes.<br />
<br />
We also didn't have very much success getting many bee photos for her half birthday. She just wasn't interested...<br />

<br />
I realize how hard it is to remember everything that happens. It all changes so quickly, so I can't even tell you what she was like 3 months ago. I know she's chatty chatty all the time, loves coloring, school, and puzzles. She LOVES her little brother. She's the absolute best big sister - beyond anything I could have imagined. She's a happy girl (most of the time!). And she loves her friends that she is making in our new playgroups. Even though I can't remember everything, at least I have pictures to remind me of this 6 months of her life! So, here's the album of some selected Rebekah highlights from 2 to 2 1/2!<br />

<div style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt; margin: 0in;">
Well, we were
actually a day late getting Jacob's 3 months photos done.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Grammy and Grampy came over for dinner that
night and we were having too much fun with them - and that was more important!<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Now I'm over a week late getting the blog
post done, but that's ok too. :)</div>
<div style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt; margin: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt; margin: 0in;">
3 months
already.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>This little boy has changed so
much, just the last couple of weeks.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>He
is all smiles, and even giggling every now and then!<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></div>
<div style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt; margin: 0in;">
</div>
<a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/2Lvz639MewboObCL_Tchy9MTjNZETYmyPJy0liipFm0?feat=embedwebsite"><img height="288" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-yaMFkRvOAaI/UTPsoT2sUkI/AAAAAAAAN8w/Yb5n0HdpJYk/s288/IMG_3066.JPG" width="216" /></a>

<div style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt; margin: 0in;">
</div>
<div style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt; margin: 0in;">
<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>He has the most laid back, happy
personality.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>And he is trying so hard to
be on the move!<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>He flips over every time
we lay him on his back (except when he is swaddled in bed).<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>And when he is on his belly he just scoots
and scoots.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span> </div>
<div style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt; margin: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt; margin: 0in;">
Here he is rolling over (click to view video)...</div>

<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt; margin: 0in;">
He has also started grasping
for toys and has even had luck grabbing his wubbanub and sticking it in his own
mouth!<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span> </div>

We also tried out the bumbo for
the first time.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Rebekah thought it was

<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt; margin: 0in;">
We took him to the
doctor on Friday (a little over a week after he turned 3 months) and he is only
12 pounds.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>We just have skinny little
babies!<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>He is growing out of his 3 month
clothes though, and the 3-6 month stuff doesn't look so huge on him
anymore.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>So I guess he is growing!</div>
<div style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt; margin: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt; margin: 0in;">
We just love this
little boy to pieces, all of us!<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Looking
forward to seeing what happens in the next month!</div>

In my family, we also have 2 birthdays (my dad and my grandmother) during that time frame. I already told you about <a href="http://thebillmeierfam.blogspot.com/2013/01/jacobs-baptism.html" target="_blank">the baptism</a> that happened this month too. It was a busy month.<br />
<br />
Last year, I didn't make it very far in my sorting through and posting about Christmas. I promised several chapters, and when <a href="http://thebillmeierfam.blogspot.com/2012/02/christmas-2011-chapter-2-breakfast-with.html" target="_blank">Chapter 2</a> didn't happen until the end of February, I just kind of gave up. (In fact, that was the last time I posted until <a href="http://thebillmeierfam.blogspot.com/2012/08/rebekah-is-2.html" target="_blank">Rebekah's birthday</a>, and I didn't even ever post about her actual party!) Anyway, this post is supposed to be about Jacob, and the point is that I knew if I wanted to do a 2 month post on Jacob, I had to get through all the Christmas photos this year!<br />
<br />
This is a HUGE album of photos. We celebrate Christmas big time...setting up the tree, visiting <a href="http://www.cor.net/index.aspx?page=1303" target="_blank">Santa's village in Richardson</a>, checking out the <a href="http://www.rmhdallas.org/news-and-events/the-trains-at-northpark/" target="_blank">trains at Northpark</a> (usually more than once), making cookies, making gingerbread houses (a new tradition this year), seeing <a href="http://santasays.org/" target="_blank">Santa at Northpark</a>, spending lots of time with family, going to Mass, and having some time for our little family to celebrate at our house.<br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
<br />
If you can make it through all 237 (literally) photos, please feel free to check it out:<br />

<br />
<i>Jacob's 1st Snow!</i><br />
<i> </i><br />
As for Jacob, he was 10lb 4oz at his 2 month appointment (6%). His length was 22.75" (32%), but I actually think they mis-measured that because he had been in the 77-80% range on height before. He is starting to smile and definitely likes to hold his head up as long as he can so he can to check out the world. This sweet little boy is so loved by his sweet big sister, and is a joy to see the two of them together!<br />
<br />
We have a few more Jacob photos posted in the album below, and of course, the <a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/julie.billmeier/JacobAndTheRaccoon?authuser=0&feat=directlink" target="_blank">Jacob and the Raccoon</a> photos have been updated!<br />

It was a beautiful celebration! We were blessed with so many family and friends who could be there with us, and blessed by prayers of many who were not able to join us for the day.<br />
<br />
The baptism had special involvement by all of Jacob's grandparents. Granddad (Julie's dad) did the baptism. Grandma (Julie's mom) and Grammy and Grampy (Adam's parents) stood in for our wonderful godparents who were unfortunately unable to attend. We missed Betsy and Curtis so much! We were thankful to the grandparents for stepping in!<br />
<br />
Jacob wore the baptismal gown that Adam wore for his baptism. Rebekah wore the same gown. Jacob also wore the same sleeper Adam wore underneath the baptismal gown! Such a special connection to his dada!<br />
<br />
There are way too many good photos from the day for me to pick any for this blog (thanks to our photographer, Auntie Tiff!). Here's the album for you to enjoy!<br />

He was 7lb 11oz and 20.5 inches. We were so surprised that he was a boy! And so excited to have him join our family.<br />
<a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/uC11IWc9tQODiVCpKPywvNMTjNZETYmyPJy0liipFm0?feat=embedwebsite"><img height="288" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-pRIbIUtpvhU/UOXdEct2MvI/AAAAAAAAM9w/zz1G2vg1uzI/s288/20121120-DSC_0130.JPG" width="192" /></a>

<br />
I finally went into labor the evening of 11/19 (he was due 11/18 but everyone had said he would probably come early so my expectations were set!). As you may have read in <a href="http://thebillmeierfam.blogspot.com/2012/11/39-weeks-6-days.html" target="_blank">my last post</a>, I had been having contractions for weeks and weeks. So, when I was baking pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving I wasn't surprised when my contractions started up again. This time, however, when I laid down, they didn't stop. They were less intense, but did not go away. So I started timing them and they were mostly consistent. We weren't sure what we should do, but it was about 10pm and after an hour or so we decided it was probably wise to go into the hospital. We called Adam's parents and finished packing our hospital bags. On the way to the hospital I still was not convinced this was the real thing and kind of assumed they would be sending us home. It was a little after midnight by the time we pulled into the parking lot. We got out of the car, started walking, I leaned over to give Adam a kiss, took 2 more steps, and my water broke. I said "well, I guess we are having a baby!"<br />
<br />
I had considered going drug-free with this baby. We had tried with Rebekah and after hours of labor and being up all night with no sleep or food, I ended up with the epidural. This time, I decided that because it was 2am and I was already totally exhausted, I would rather try to get some rest and enjoy the next day with my new baby instead of being up all night pacing the halls. I got some rest, but no real sleep after the epidural. My doc came in around 9am and started pitocin because I wasn't progressing very well, and just before 11am I was ready to push! <br />
<br />
We spent 2 more nights in the hospital and came home on Thanksgiving day!<br />

<br />
The last 6 weeks have been a whirlwind of diaper changes, breastfeeding issues, toddler adjustments, and holidays. I honestly can't believe 6 weeks have gone by already, and I <i>really </i>hope January slows down a bit now that we are past the holidays.<br />
<br />
People always ask me how Rebekah is adjusting. All in all, she has done great! We've had some issues with her testing boundaries, but honestly I think that is mostly her just being 2. She <i>loves</i> her little brother and shouts excitedly when he is "aaa-waake!" These two are going to be great friends, I just know it.<br />

<br />
<br />
You may remember that we took monthly pictures of <a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/julie.billmeier/RebekahAndTheBee" target="_blank">Rebekah and her Bee</a>. We have started the same tradition with Jacob. His animal is a very special raccoon that was Adam's when he was a baby. We didn't have the raccoon for the very first pictures, so we used a turkey (since he was our little turkey baby!) and the frog Rebekah bought him as a present. We were able to start the raccoon pictures with his month 1 pics.<br />

<div style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt; margin: 0in;">
<i>Random thoughts from
an almost 40 week pregnant woman.</i></div>
<div style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt; margin: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;">I've been having contractions
since about 30 weeks.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>That's 10
weeks.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>2 and a half months.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;">The contractions got really
bad<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>a few weeks ago.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Like, laying on my couch not being able
to do anything because if I stood up it hurt, bad.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>But they never got regular or
consistent.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Most days have been
better since then, but I've still had a few bad days.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It is strange to feel somewhat normal
some days and </span><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt; font-style: italic;">completely</span><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;"> exhausted and run down on others.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;">Yesterday I had 7 hours (7!)
of timeable, somewhat painful contractions.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Unfortunately, the timing was all over
the place and not painful enough to send me to the hospital.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Went to bed at 9:30 and woke up today
pretty much back to normal with very few contractions at all today.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It is the craziest (and most frustrating) thing.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;">I feel like a ticking time
bomb.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Or at least like people look
at me that way.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I feel like they
think my water is going to break or my contractions are going to cause me
to push this baby out in the middle of my conversation with them.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;">I'm trying really (</span><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt; font-style: italic;">really,
really</span><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;">) hard to
trust that my body is going to tell me when I'm actually in labor.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>After having contractions for 10 weeks,
it is hard to believe that I'll know when the real ones will be here.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;">As much as I'm ready for this
next phase of our life to start, I'm also very anxious about the major
change that is about to happen in our house.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>For example, yesterday when I got
Rebekah up from her nap, she was content eating a snack and playing with
her puzzles while I worked on dinner.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>Our routine has really become fairly easy.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>And for someone who has Discipline as
one of their </span><a href="http://www.strengthsfinder.com/home.aspx"><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;">Strengths</span></a><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;">, this is something I thrive
on.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I know that the lack of
schedule with a newborn baby is going to throw all of this out the
window.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>(However, at least this
time around, I know routine will eventually return.)</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;">We are going to schedule an
induction for next Friday.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I'm
either getting a new TV or a new baby for Black Friday (maybe both).<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>While having an "end date" is
somewhat comforting, I'm really going to be disappointed after all this
(impatient) waiting if I don't get to experience going into labor on my
own.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;">This whole not knowing the
gender thing is getting really old.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>I'm ready to buy some cute Christmas clothes for this baby.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;">Rebekah has been consistently
telling me (for weeks now) that this baby is a sister.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>"No brother, sister.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Girl."<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I'm a little worried about what is going
to happen if this baby is a boy.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;">At this point in my
"pregnancy" with Rebekah, we were already home from the hospital
with her.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I've learned this time
around that these last couple of weeks are SO different<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>from the rest of the pregnancy.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Up until a few weeks ago I had only
gained about 20 pounds the entire pregnancy and had actually lost some
weight over a couple of weeks.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I've
gained at least 2 pounds each of the last 3 weeks and I may not have
looked "full term" at 37 weeks, but I definitely look it now
just 2 weeks later.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;">I have basically unpacked the
hospital bag I packed 3 weeks ago.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>I need that stuff!<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I just
hope I can remember to put everything back in.</span>

I was so excited about getting to <a href="http://dallasarboretum.org/" target="_blank">the Dallas Arboretum</a> and <a href="http://www.bigtex.com/sft/" target="_blank">The State Fair</a> and not going into labor while I was there! (I was 34 weeks along the weekend we did both of these favorite family fall activities, and I've been having off and on contractions since about 30 weeks...)<br />
<br />
I just have to share these photos with you all...<br />

<br />
<br />
At the Fair, we did our typical family traditions: eat lots of fried food, play Flip-A-Chick, watch one of the shows (usually the pig race, but this time we got to see the dog show), and our new tradition of taking Rebekah through the little kids pretend farm. She loved that this year and did a great job following all the directions along the way!<br />

A link to the entire album is below, but here's a nice image of our trips to the fair since Rebekah was born!<br />

Pathetic, really. However, since that post I have been through 1st (and 2nd!) trimester of pregnancy. We had a 6 week period that included 11 doctor visits, 2 trips to the ER, and 2 day surgeries. And we sold our condo, bought a house, and moved. It's been a hectic 6 months.<br />
<br />
I guess it is too late to finish getting<a href="http://thebillmeierfam.blogspot.com/2012/02/christmas-2011-chapter-2-breakfast-with.html"> those Christmas pictures posted</a>.<br />
<br />
The last time I was motivated enough to was about 6 months ago, for <a href="http://thebillmeierfam.blogspot.com/2012/02/18-month-update.html">Rebekah's 18 month update</a>. So, guess what....now she's 2!!<br />
<br />
Wow.<br />
<br />
We had such a fantastic day on her birthday! Adam stayed home from work and we started the morning off with presents and pancakes.<br />
<a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/5z2fC4KLK4Fay1jP4nTNZdMTjNZETYmyPJy0liipFm0?feat=embedwebsite"><img height="288" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-8K7VZl7lSyo/UD193sdbxLI/AAAAAAAAL0s/_ps6dBNicCY/s288/Rebekah%25202nd%2520Bday%2520%252820%2529.JPG" width="192" /></a>

<br />
<br />
We stopped by the party store to order balloons for the party (and of course pick one up for her!).<br />
<a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/KivE1s3bHPkNHQmsIPhRBdMTjNZETYmyPJy0liipFm0?feat=embedwebsite"><img height="288" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-wJ667-AGzoQ/UD2BOmuYH6I/AAAAAAAAL30/aL9sbKcNY7A/s288/IMG_2309.JPG" width="215" /></a><br />
<br />
Then went went out to the <a href="http://www.flightmuseum.com/" target="_blank">Frontiers of Flight Museum</a>. We pass this place every Tuesday and Thursday when I take her to school and go to work, and also on Sundays on the way to church. She loves to point out the "AIRPLANES" outside, so we thought we would check it out. It was fun and she had a great time!<br />

<br />
I really can't believe how much this little girl has blessed our life over the last 2 years! She is absolutely fun, loving, and precious. She brings joy to our life and to everyone we meet. Can't wait to see where life takes her!<br />
<br />
Of course, I can't leave you without a 2 year old bee photo! This one was taken at 4:47 pm, 2 years to the minute!<br />

I actually didn't mean to wait this long to do another Christmas post, but things have just been...well, you know, busy.<br /><br />So, my 2nd chapter in the Christmas 2011 recap is all about breakfast with St. Nick. The <a href="http://www.stmarkplano.org/">church my mom works at</a> hosted a breakfast with St. Nick and the whole family made it to the fun event! They had pancakes, crafts, a story, and a visit with St. Nicholas.<br /><br />We had a fun, busy morning chasing all the kids around! You don't get much time to talk to one another when everyone is chasing 5 cousins under the age of 3, but I think all the kids had a great time! They looked super cute in their coordinated Christmas shirts (thanks, Grandma!)!<br /><br />Enjoy the photos...<br /><table style="width:194px;"><tbody><tr><td style="height:194px;background:url(https://picasaweb.google.com/s/c/transparent_album_background.gif) no-repeat left" align="center"><a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/julie.billmeier/201112ChristmasCh2StNick?authuser=0&feat=embedwebsite"><img src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-JP1eXRzsxUk/T0sBL8ifzGE/AAAAAAAALQc/CpRYINEvlQY/s160-c/201112ChristmasCh2StNick.jpg" style="margin:1px 0 0 4px;" height="160" width="160" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="text-align:center;font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:11px"><a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/julie.billmeier/201112ChristmasCh2StNick?authuser=0&feat=embedwebsite" style="color:#4D4D4D;font-weight:bold;text-decoration:none;">2011.12 - Christmas Ch2 - St. Nick</a></td></tr></tbody></table>Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04058831705904563847noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-380734327182067241.post-28239437799186051532012-02-26T21:26:00.009-06:002012-02-27T13:25:12.704-06:0018 Month Update!I still have not gone back to finish my Christmas chapters (or November, or January...), but at least I can get around to doing an 18 month update within a week of Rebekah's year and a half birthday!<br /><br />Went to the doc today and Rebekah is 33 inches (87%) and 24 lbs (49%). She's still a tall girl!<br /><br />18 months is such a fun, busy stage! Rebekah is a little runner. She giggles and runs and loves to play with everything in sight. Her absolute favorite thing is reading books. It is the first thing she wants when she wakes up in the morning, she has to have one while her diaper is changed, then she heads straight for the bookshelf to pick out a few more. She loves to read on her own, but she loves it even more when she can sit in our lap and have us read to her. Rebekah can even read all the (3) words in the <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Hug-Jez-Alborough/dp/0763645109/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1330313270&sr=8-1">Hug </a>book all on her own! She's also so good at identifying animals as we look at them in books. I'm amazed every time she does it!<br /><br />Rebekah is "talking" all the time. Some words are mostly understandable (banana, snack, up, down, momma, dada, ball, fish, book, block, snake, and others - the latest is "salsa!"). Others are entire sentences of incomprehensible words, but she is definitely "saying" something because it is the same string of syllables when we ask her to repeat it! People often call her "very expressive" and "a good communicator," and one of her teachers tells me how much she loves having conversations with Rebekah.<br /><br />And she is still our little socialite - saying hi to everyone and blowing kisses everywhere! She is so sweet giving hugs and kisses when asked - even to her friends and her cousins. She is just a sweet, sweet little girl.<br /><br />Ok, I think I've done enough mom bragging for one blog post. I'll leave you with comparison photos...<br /><br /><span style="font-style: italic;">12 Months, 18 Months</span><br /><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-vXTWTXXiXQo/TlRZoHesgFI/AAAAAAAAJ90/9RHu_7OpwF4/s512/DSC_0015.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 207px; height: 310px;" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-vXTWTXXiXQo/TlRZoHesgFI/AAAAAAAAJ90/9RHu_7OpwF4/s512/DSC_0015.JPG" alt="" border="0" /></a> <a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-IPwmCA6orBI/T0r3s7j5F1I/AAAAAAAALKc/uxiIsGeWSVU/s512/20120223-DSC_0079.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 205px; height: 309px;" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-IPwmCA6orBI/T0r3s7j5F1I/AAAAAAAALKc/uxiIsGeWSVU/s512/20120223-DSC_0079.JPG" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><br />...and photos of her 18 month celebratory <a href="http://www.czechstop.net/home.php">Czech stop</a> kolache.<br /><br /><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8GspQSOCz-K2Krgqd-0rJ-JUGzhlOjP2qFGEgTXUeBQDWpmZfPVL_PmB-1fTiK59h5-SeaMCENG6zkypwkzp60zz0w-I2ts8KMdiBScVA6XdFnDAkeNY9GiXcElROrP68aFsU_aNgsutf/s320/20120223-DSC_0108.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5713655753618477730" border="0" /> <img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2oT6wF1h1-JVTtFKM-uAoGIpdLl-4k-cx_9nZ3qpgprhZTK2afWhYkwkQ-1a0hOPGQkI-fnV0v393fcWheXgxWuj1csKy6R-AJKnGdEiP8cy-RP3IoBLFSdaUyysp8dR7eLQdhoICx2jv/s320/20120223-DSC_0112.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5713655748454655202" border="0" /><br /><br /><br /><span style="font-style: italic;">The progressive bee album can be found here:</span><br /><table style="width:194px;"><tbody><tr><td style="height:194px;background:url(https://picasaweb.google.com/s/c/transparent_album_background.gif) no-repeat left" align="center"><a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/julie.billmeier/RebekahAndTheBee?authuser=0&feat=embedwebsite"><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-lqWxRLFYrT4/TOx8BHsLArE/AAAAAAAALLc/C9j16pfspyo/s160-c/RebekahAndTheBee.jpg" style="margin:1px 0 0 4px;" height="160" width="160" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="text-align:center;font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:11px"><a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/julie.billmeier/RebekahAndTheBee?authuser=0&feat=embedwebsite" style="color:#4D4D4D;font-weight:bold;text-decoration:none;">Rebekah and the Bee</a></td></tr></tbody></table>Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04058831705904563847noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-380734327182067241.post-14596954827779532012-01-09T15:13:00.016-06:002012-01-09T17:55:01.430-06:00Christmas 2011 Chapter 1: Christmas DecoratingI am so overwhelmed by the number of photos we have from Christmas! We seriously have well over 1000 photos...we obviously had LOTS of fun and made lots of wonderful memories with family and friends. I decided I'm going to have to break this up into "chapters" to even be able to tackle this. I'm completely skipping my November post in an effort to get Christmas up before the end of January. Hopefully I'll get back to it because there are some fun experiences to share with you!<br /><br />Our Christmas season kicked off with decorating our own tree the day after Thanksgiving. Rebekah wasn't sure what we were doing, but once we started she caught on and wanted to copy what we did (this is a frequent occurrence in our house these days). Our tree had all of our nice ornaments on top, a blank area, then a bottom area with "Rebekah-friendly" ornaments. We had to leave the blank area because we didn't want things too high but within her reach for fear of the tree tumbling down while she was trying to grab for something!<br /><br />She really loved having her own area of the tree. The ornaments were frequently taken off and put back on each day - but her way of "putting them back on" meant throwing them on the branch however they landed. It really looked like a battlefield of facedown snowmen and sideways santas. Totally fitting for a tree in a house with a 16 month old!<br /><span style="font-style: italic;">Helping with the tree topper</span><br /><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-Tk16MYuLQYI/Twtg1aPwIFI/AAAAAAAAK4Y/ZMOm6A3QjNg/s512/DSC_0083.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 221px; height: 331px;" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-Tk16MYuLQYI/Twtg1aPwIFI/AAAAAAAAK4Y/ZMOm6A3QjNg/s512/DSC_0083.JPG" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><span style="font-style: italic;">Rebekah's decorating skills<br /></span><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-mH5nBgyS1sc/Twtkdc2zwVI/AAAAAAAAK6E/eTAMqDU2vCA/s640/IMG_1449.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 377px; height: 281px;" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-mH5nBgyS1sc/Twtkdc2zwVI/AAAAAAAAK6E/eTAMqDU2vCA/s640/IMG_1449.JPG" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><span style="font-style: italic;">Finished product<br /></span><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-_KOlOSuCLYM/Twtg73LubaI/AAAAAAAAK40/pL37VAvl0L4/s512/DSC_0106.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 258px; height: 387px;" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-_KOlOSuCLYM/Twtg73LubaI/AAAAAAAAK40/pL37VAvl0L4/s512/DSC_0106.JPG" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><br />Rebekah also quickly learned how to say "Santa," and practiced lots throughout the Christmas season! It originally sounded very similar to "dada," but eventually had its own sound!<br /><span style="font-style: italic;">click image for video</span><br /><a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/tjnh-0kWdFGY7BTK8ExCZtMTjNZETYmyPJy0liipFm0?feat=embedwebsite"><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-UAkWfJ7R7JM/TwtkaTnGZMI/AAAAAAAAK58/M5oqB_7gcdk/s400/IMG_1351.jpg" width="400" height="225" /></a><br /><br />We also went to Grammy and Grampy's that weekend (Adam's parents). Rebekah helped Grammy decorate the tree while Adam and I went for a long half marathon training run.<br /><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-MzQmw80t90A/Twtg-Ts5xLI/AAAAAAAAK48/1wCL_qD2gOo/s640/Export%252520to%252520Adam%252520-%25252002.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 372px; height: 279px;" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-MzQmw80t90A/Twtg-Ts5xLI/AAAAAAAAK48/1wCL_qD2gOo/s640/Export%252520to%252520Adam%252520-%25252002.JPG" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><br />Adam also helped his dad with outside lights while we watched.<br /><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-WrO-kyxrHfg/TwthCu2lCDI/AAAAAAAAK5Q/MDvGjYwIIfI/s512/DSC_0112.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 244px; height: 366px;" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-WrO-kyxrHfg/TwthCu2lCDI/AAAAAAAAK5Q/MDvGjYwIIfI/s512/DSC_0112.JPG" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><br />Then we took a trip to downtown Grapevine to check out their decorations! A cold front had come in that day, so we didn't spend as much time there as we would have liked, but it was still fun!<br /><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-hXV4_RaLmJA/TwthBo3a0HI/AAAAAAAAK5M/bPFhYEoYz68/s640/Export%252520to%252520Adam%252520-%25252013.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 406px; height: 304px;" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-hXV4_RaLmJA/TwthBo3a0HI/AAAAAAAAK5M/bPFhYEoYz68/s640/Export%252520to%252520Adam%252520-%25252013.JPG" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><br />Here are all the photos from Christmas Decorating:<br /><table style="width:194px;"><tbody><tr><td style="height:194px;background:url(https://picasaweb.google.com/s/c/transparent_album_background.gif) no-repeat left" align="center"><a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/julie.billmeier/201112ChristmasDecorating?authuser=0&feat=embedwebsite"><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-A2SP1_v-b8g/TwtYZw55XlE/AAAAAAAAK6k/CYBOVU7-rY0/s160-c/201112ChristmasDecorating.jpg" style="margin:1px 0 0 4px;" width="160" height="160" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="text-align:center;font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:11px"><a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/julie.billmeier/201112ChristmasDecorating?authuser=0&feat=embedwebsite" style="color:#4D4D4D;font-weight:bold;text-decoration:none;">2011.12 - Christmas Decorating</a></td></tr></tbody></table><br /><span style="font-style: italic;">Next up - breakfast with St. Nick!</span>Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04058831705904563847noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-380734327182067241.post-83572242332805228812011-12-10T14:11:00.006-06:002011-12-11T15:06:44.690-06:00OctoberI have <span style="font-style: italic;">got </span>to start doing these updates more frequently. Rebekah's Grammy (Adam's mom) made it! Just too adorable. And she loved the costume - when we put it on her she would get so excited and run around in circles.<br /><br />We carved the pumpkin on Friday night. Rebekah wanted nothing to do with the pumpkin guts! Adam did a great job with the carving!<br /><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-7bo3OYa5NzE/TrXowfZ3OyI/AAAAAAAAKrE/fLU9JGT3nkg/s512/20111028-DSC_0010.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 159px; height: 238px;" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-7bo3OYa5NzE/TrXowfZ3OyI/AAAAAAAAKrE/fLU9JGT3nkg/s512/20111028-DSC_0010.JPG" alt="" border="0" /></a> <a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-2lXkj0uJzbQ/TrXoxSVHKwI/AAAAAAAAKrI/o5xYliSyOwo/s512/20111028-DSC_0015.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 157px; height: 236px;" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-2lXkj0uJzbQ/TrXoxSVHKwI/AAAAAAAAKrI/o5xYliSyOwo/s512/20111028-DSC_0015.JPG" alt="" border="0" /></a> <a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-E04702bAsRk/TrXo4PS3YNI/AAAAAAAAKrk/8qLOlWIHPwQ/s512/20111028-DSC_0035.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 155px; height: 236px;" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-E04702bAsRk/TrXo4PS3YNI/AAAAAAAAKrk/8qLOlWIHPwQ/s512/20111028-DSC_0035.JPG" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><br />We took her to Grammy & Grampy's on Saturday, then Grandma and Granddad had a little party for the kiddos on Sunday.<br /><span style="font-style: italic;">Grammy & Grampy's Grandma & Granddad's</span><br /><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-vhE041Ddp5c/TrXo5wVc15I/AAAAAAAAKrs/wMImTypnGIo/s512/20111029-DSC_0041.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 170px; height: 256px;" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-vhE041Ddp5c/TrXo5wVc15I/AAAAAAAAKrs/wMImTypnGIo/s512/20111029-DSC_0041.JPG" alt="" border="0" /></a> <a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-gmIm6yu4YtM/TrXpAL_w_4I/AAAAAAAAKsA/iu52yc2j1Zw/s512/20111030-DSC_0052.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 168px; height: 253px;" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-gmIm6yu4YtM/TrXpAL_w_4I/AAAAAAAAKsA/iu52yc2j1Zw/s512/20111030-DSC_0052.JPG" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><br />On Monday morning, we had some friends over for a Halloween brunch at the condo. I was too busy to take very many pictures, but I think everyone had a fun time. We had a packed house!! Rebekah started giggling and hopping when kids started showing up. I never think our condo is big enough to have other over, but Rebekah loved it so much I think we'll have to do it more. :)<br /><br /><br />Then, on Monday night we went trick-or-treating with our friends, <a href="http://thetamayos.blogspot.com/">the Tamayos</a>. They have a fun neighborhood and it was so neat to see so many kids out running around in their costumes. Rebekah had a <span style="font-style: italic;">blast</span>! After the first couple of houses, she realized these people would give her something to put in her bag - <a href="http://thebillmeierfam.blogspot.com/2011/08/rebekahs-bag-trick.html">an absolute favorite activity right now</a>. She had no idea it was candy - she just knew they were handing her something that was the perfect size for her little hands and she got to put it in her bag. Some people wanted to put it in her bag for her, but she was having none of that - that's her job! And everyone kept letting her take more and more candy from the bowl because they thought it was so funny. We really had a great time, and I think Adam's co-workers enjoyed the sugary treats. :)<br /><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-1sO_DwdwScA/TrXpVdH6fGI/AAAAAAAAKtI/o1_syNtMjfU/s512/20111031-DSC_0089.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 154px; height: 231px;" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-1sO_DwdwScA/TrXpVdH6fGI/AAAAAAAAKtI/o1_syNtMjfU/s512/20111031-DSC_0089.JPG" alt="" border="0" /></a> <a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-E913Xq-Ie5s/TrXpbAPg1QI/AAAAAAAAKtc/5w2eykvGjBU/s512/20111031-DSC_0102.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 152px; height: 222px;" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-E913Xq-Ie5s/TrXpbAPg1QI/AAAAAAAAKtc/5w2eykvGjBU/s512/20111031-DSC_0102.JPG" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-nvincUd1B7c/TrXpkfB4nsI/AAAAAAAAKuA/FVPh5Uz9oeI/s512/20111031-DSC_0135.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 151px; height: 225px;" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-nvincUd1B7c/TrXpkfB4nsI/AAAAAAAAKuA/FVPh5Uz9oeI/s512/20111031-DSC_0135.JPG" alt="" border="0" /></a> <a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-sFfHwcg_Ock/TrXplTCL0gI/AAAAAAAAKuE/-M1NxrLnGds/s512/20111031-DSC_0139.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 149px; height: 224px;" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-sFfHwcg_Ock/TrXplTCL0gI/AAAAAAAAKuE/-M1NxrLnGds/s512/20111031-DSC_0139.JPG" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><br />Happy Halloween everyone!<br /><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-uwab5G8fynM/TrXpFj8WqBI/AAAAAAAAKsU/wyOl9Ap8HYg/s720/20111030-DSC_0065.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 308px; height: 205px;" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-uwab5G8fynM/TrXpFj8WqBI/AAAAAAAAKsU/wyOl9Ap8HYg/s720/20111030-DSC_0065.JPG" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br />Here are all the photos to enjoy...<br /><table style="width:194px;"><tbody><tr><td style="height:194px;background:url(https://picasaweb.google.com/s/c/transparent_album_background.gif) no-repeat left" align="center"><a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/julie.billmeier/20111031HalloweenWeekend?authuser=0&feat=embedwebsite"><img src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-2CT_0fwk1GY/TrXos1vCmGE/AAAAAAAAKuk/bVBUAMCJP4E/s160-c/20111031HalloweenWeekend.jpg" style="margin:1px 0 0 4px;" width="160" height="160" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="text-align:center;font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:11px"><a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/julie.billmeier/20111031HalloweenWeekend?authuser=0&feat=embedwebsite" style="color:#4D4D4D;font-weight:bold;text-decoration:none;">2011.10.31 - Halloween weekend</a></td></tr></tbody></table>Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04058831705904563847noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-380734327182067241.post-23172789468337372272011-10-22T12:26:00.003-05:002011-10-22T12:38:21.718-05:00Rebekah's SleepoverRebekah spent the night at a friend's house last night. Our friends had been asking if we wanted her to come play and spend the night with their 3 year old little girl, and we decided to graciously accept the offer. Another friend was having her birthday party that night, so we decided to live it up "old school style" (you know, before kids) and go out without worrying about getting home to relieve the babysitter.<br /><br />This wasn't the first time I spent the night away from Rebekah. She stayed with her Grammy and Grampy in September while Adam and I went to the ACL Music Festival in Austin. But this was different. This time, we came home to our own house without a kid in it.<br /><br />I had a few realizations with this experience:<br /><br />It was nice to be able to go out and not worry about what time we needed to go home.<br />It was nice to wake up this morning and not have to worry about changing a diaper.<br />It was nice to eat breakfast at the coffee table and not worry about little fingers getting into it.<br />It was nice to set my coffee down on my bedside table and not worry about it being pulled off and spilled on a little head.<br />It was nice to leave the closet door open while trying to get dressed and not worry about all my shoes being dragged out of the closet.<br /><br />BUT....<br />I missed my morning smiles and giggles. (I'm not a morning person, so this definitely helps with coping with the morning diaper change-see above.) :)<br />I missed Rebekah running around in circles in the crib while I'm trying to grab her to get her out.<br />I missed how excited she gets when she's eating and communicating - when she knows she's told me what she wants and I understand it - she gets so happy.<br />I missed her morning exploration of the house, finding all her toys and getting them ALL out again.<br /><br />Most of all, I realized that I have more fun with Rebekah (and Adam, of course) than without her. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the chance to catch up with friends and had a great time last night! But, our little family has a lot of fun together, doing regular everyday things as well as big fun family outings. I'm just happier and enjoy life more when we are all experiencing it together.<br /><br />Can't believe how much this little girl has changed our life. :)Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04058831705904563847noreply@blogger.com0
