So many changes!

I would normally save some of these tidbits for R's 6 month update, but they are just too good not go get down already.

Before that, we had a fabulous weekend last weekend as tons of Adam's relatives were in town for his sister's wedding. (And now I know they keep up with the blog - yay!) It was a really neat thing to see all of his living aunts and uncles in one place for this occasion. It was also an awesome opportunity for Rebekah to meet so many great aunts and uncles, and a few (2nd?) cousins as well! I only remember meeting one great aunt in my lifetime, so it's really neat to have our daughter meet so many of hers. We need to make a trip to Minnesota (and Arkansas!) to see more of our relatives.

Ok, so on to the changes.

The biggest thing - why didn't anyone tell me that this pre-crawling phase is so entertaining?? The little girl gets up on those hands a knees and just rocks back and forth, occasionally getting a knee to scoot forward. She is extremely proficient in scooting around on her belly, and can pretty much get where she needs to go doing that. I did see some frustration in her today when she couldn't make the crawling thing work, so I know she's getting there!

She can sit up ok and has started being able to push herself back up into a sitting position if she falls forward. She still is a bit shaky and prone to fall quickly to one side, so we have to be careful on the hardwoods. She really likes to sit on the floor in between our legs (for protection) and just play and play.

The little words have started trying to come out of her mouth. Ok, not real words, of course, but moving her mouth in a way other than just to cry or laugh. She makes little faces and noises that I know she thinks are words! Today she also started sticking her tongue out and spitting - I guess I should stop doing that to her!

Finally, Rebeka loves giving kisses! I do a lot of kissing on her cheeks and putting my mouth up to her cheeks while making noise or giving raspberries - I think she is catching on! If you hold her close to your face, she loves to grab your face and smack her mouth right on your cheek and give you slobbery kisses! I'm not sure she knows what she is doing, but everyday it seems a bit more intentional!

After 3 days in the office, I got to stay home with her all day today. It was wonderful to get to spend a whole day just the two of us! She turns 6 months next Wednesday, so stay tuned for some Bee photos and a 6 month update!
